Hi there from Megen and Alvar

Hey Everyone,

Catronia just sent us this invite, so here we are. I'm not very savy when it comes to groups like this, so it will probably take me a while to get a complete profile and and figure out how it all works.

It has been fun catching up on your lives. Here's what's going on in our life. Alvar and I now live in Sacramento (to be close to his family). We have a beautiful 19 month old son, Daniel. Alvar (Jason) teacher history at a Emerson Jr. High in Davis (and loves it!) and I teach kindergarten 3 days a week in Elk Grove. Alvar is still very active in the SCA. Daniel and I go to events about once every month or so.
I guess that's about it for now.

Take care,

Megen

Brandi

Hey folks, just an update on Brandilian - seems she's on the downward spiral. Last I heard, Robert has custody of Matt and Julian - Jeremey has custody of Hunter - but ufortunately, Brandi seems bent on keeping her youngest (don't know her name - but Jordi told me about 3 1/2 years ago that Joseph had spotted Brandi panhandling with an infant - so I'm assuming that's the same child). It seems to have only gotten worse for her as last word is she's selling herself and living out of the Broadway Motel.

I realize that for some of us, there may not be any love lost for her, but PLEASE keep her in your prayers anyway.

How some pictures y'all?

Wow...I think I'm turning midwestern y'all! <shudder> Since a picture is worth a thousand words...post some in our album!

And where are Trina & Meghan?

I'm expecting some pictures from the Turbo Tabla workshop/shows that co-produced (yeah, I took care of everything except the finances). The picture I put into the album was the one that made it into several newspapers - ah, media attention for the first time in 3 years!

Oh yeah, the shows went really well...expecting 1 dreadful performance by a dancer old enough to know better. We had to cut her music to get her off the stage. Yikes!

Hi everyone!

Okay, I've taken the plunge and created the first message. I'm planning on uploading some pics of Senkyu (Lloyd) that I've been meaning to get to his memorial site - that is if the Da Vikings are still keeping it up.

As for the SCA, I'm afraid I just haven't gotten the motivation to check out the local group out here. There is an actual shop that caters to the crowd nearby...it's the Pillaged Village (www.pillagedvillage.com) pretty cool. I've got to get to Pennsic soon though, I'm only a state away.

Please feel free to invite others to this group...in particular, I'd love to find out what the Vikings have been up to. As well as Sandy Nakashima, Lois Fraser, Sean Herlighy, Sir Elrin, Trina, Meghan & Elvar....just to name a few, so please invite away if you have their email addys!

Working with the Freak Show

Daniel is okay with me doing the occasional gig with the Freak Show - they're generally pro-bono so I don't make a habit of it. I've tried some fire-eating - I need some smaller sticks because my mouth is a bit smaller than the guys (darn the TMJ!) I'd love to try the human volcano stunt - but am not thrilled with the risk assoc. with it (people have been very badly scarred and even died when something goes wrong) so maybe in my next lifetime! I am working with poi spinning - getting my butt kicked is more like it - but I keep working at it and hopefully in about 10 years I'll be good enough to move to fire poi....

Mostly what I'm doing is rehearsing with Dance D'Orientale Fusion. We've got to get 6 dances together by March oy! Deniz is going to Turkey at the end of the week to get us costumes - hehehehe! Oh yeah, this is a cabaret troupe so no easy tribal chorus line stuff for us.

I'll post some pictures of Deniz and I working at the Freak Show - my profile pic is from one of those gigs.
